hey guys, i got a 05 450r and im planning a complete rebuild this winter and im planning on getting a different swing arm too. but im not quite sure about what i want to get, i want a longer one to keep the front end on the ground. would a stock 06 swinger be a good buy or should i just go with something like houser. and also if i do go with aftermarket how much longer should i go. thanks.

I had a few nice conversation with Dave at JD Performance. He was so nice and didn't mind my questions about the shock I was buying and the swingarm I was interested in. He said depending on what you are riding will tell you what length to get. For MX riding it seems the +1 will do great. For me and desert he recommended a +1.5 or 2.

I am very impressed with JD and Houser swingarms, I like the way they are made and their price is better then most. I've come across more expensive swingers that looked like they came from a gum ball machine.

BTW, the 06 swingarm is only 5/8" longer than the 04/05. It would be completely not worth the change over. That's something else I learned, lol.

I put 2" in mine. I do alot of hillclimbing and trailriding. It's the best mod I have done to my quad.:macho

i would 100% go with the Houser one. they make awsome stuff and i have yet to break or bend anything they make and i have almost all of it :D . get the +1.25 or +1 depending on what compainy you go with. (some only offer one or the other) but the +1.25 is the prefered one for MX. if you are going to go LT wie your at it then get the Houser air box lifter. i think they are the only compainy that makes one. go houser with your arms too. that new SLICAST is the bomb! in this pick i know the swinger isnt houser, i didnt have it yet.

BTW.. I heard Houser had the chain slide issue, did they ever get that corrected? Dont quote me, but I thought it was Houser.I know Zbroz has been working hard to correct the problem, ours is now fixed :)
