HP trans oil question?

The owners manual for my 06 450er suggest pro honda HP trans oil or HP4. I have both oils in my garage but reading the label on the HP trans oil says its for 2 cycle oil plus its 80w. Has anybody run it in theirs? I have 10w-40 HP4 in it now. I live in florida so the temp. this time a year is around 92 degrees.

If you already have the oil then use it. It is recommended so their shouldn't be anything to worry about. After the oil is gone switch to the HP4, I use it and it works fine. This way it saves you time and space using just one oil. If anything, I'd put something better in the motor and the HP4 in the trans.

HP trans oil is fine for your TRANS SIDE ONLY!!!!

80w gear oil is close to 20w motor oil.

Motor oil and gear oil are rated differently.....
