Just got a hybrid. Real simple question..I hope
Whenever I mash the throttle the quad bogs or almost dies, but if i ease onto the throttle it rocks. Maybe I just need to learn throttle control? I don't think this is the case because it's a serious problem, not just a little bogging. No doubt I'm not having a power issue because this thing is a beast, just a throttle issue.

It just the nature of the carb that the bike uses. The FCR has had a bogging issue since they came out. Mine does the same on my hybrid. I purchased the Boysen Quickshot which is a replacement for your stock accelerator pump cover which allows for more fuel. It helps but doesn't take all of the bog out. I found you have to play with the leak jets and and pilots a little bit and it will eventually be pretty good. I also know of a mod you can do to the carb that eliminates it completely. Also the the 2007 carbs for the CRF are said to have the problem fixed with a new throttle linkage design. Hope this helps. PM me if your interested on the carb mod, its cheap and easy to do.

I have a Baldwin built Crf and there is no bog on my bike. Stab it and it picks up. Tune your jetting and you should be able to tweak out the bog.

It's not perfect though, definatley needs a little TLC but WELL worth what I paid. It's the perfect project quad.

03' motor with 04' cases, very strong.

It's been ridden hard but not for long and a few things are a little ghetto. The frame has one tiny crack and the stem is bent. It needs new pc and bearings, bushings, just freshening up stuff, etc.
For now though, i'm just gonna ride it.

Thanx, Will do.

A question, Are the 2006/2007 or even 2005 motors much faster than the 03's?

Thanx, I'm thinking of getting a new motor or pouring the $ into this one like yourself. What are you doing for exhaust and carb setup?
I remember your YZF hybrid, very sick!
