Been the proud owner of an 06 450ER for a week now, just changed oil in it today, and used the mobil1 motorcycle oil. It had been serviced before I got it w/ Honda brand fluids. The quad starts much easier now, not that it was hard to start before, but now it fires up as soon as i hit the start button. Before the motor would whirl a couple times & then start.

I just thought I'd share this info b/c of talk about hard start on the 06 elec start R's, and the mobil1 motorcycle def. makes a difference. I suggest trying this oil for any having a problem with the hard start. Other synthetic oil brands may yield the same results, but mobil1 works well.

Anyone else using mobil1 motorcycle oil????

If your talking about the Mobil 1 MX4T, it made my clutch slip.................but that was on my 400EX. :(

The 450 uses a dual oil sump design, unlike the 400EX.

I have been running Royal Purple through my 05 and love the stuff. Runs very smooth and strong...

I run that oil in my street bike. No slippage or problems. It has a lot more horse power than any 400EX, so I can see it making your clutch slip.
