i have a 400ex with a stage 2 hot cam hmf exhaust jet kit and k&n and i was thinking about getting a rev box. I heard they can blow your motor up. Is this true? And will i notice a whole lot?And whats the best rev box? but not to expensive

a rev box doesn't really do much at all as far as power goes. it may give you a little better throttle response but thats it. if you are constantly hitting the rev limiter, the rev box raises your stock rev limiter, by how much depends on the particular CDI you get. IMHO they are a waste of money unless you ride at teh rev limiter alot.

I have never heard of a rev box blowing your engine up. In any case, a rev box will help out somewhat. I can't see it giving you much more power really... some may give a slight increase, but it depends on the kind of box you get. Most will help to carry out the power better rather than really give more. I really don't think that you will notice a whole lot, but you will most likely notice it. The best would have to be the programable boxes.... big money. They can be tuned for pretty much everything. For inexpensive boxes, I could not help you. :ermm: That you woukld have to research.

Ok,, so what rev box/cdi give you better throttle response etcc.
besides just increasing the limiter?

I called one company and they said thats all it did was raise the revs....

some will change ur power curve for a more aggressive powerband. some can advance ur timing. they r only worth it if ur constantly banging off the rev limiter

the sparks and the WB's boxes are the same. both are not worth a crap in my opinion.

they can blow your engine if get a box that eliminates it instead of raising it, and it will help you wind out all your gears more for more power in each gear and also more revs going into the next gear.
