Ok I have another thread over Brute Force But I need a new thread lol.

I have rode sport quads all my life and want a spunky 4x4. lIke 60 - 70 MPH.

I want a 4x4 that quick and reliable. I want something I can put my leg over and start up and go. My main fear is belt slippage. I hate it. It makes me mad everytime I ride my uncle Polaris and the belt slips when I hit a puddle.

What I want to know:
What kinda 4x4 quad you got?
How is compares in drag races to other 4x4s?
Does the belt slip in wet conditions?
What kinda problems you have? Hoepfully none
How long you have had it?

Thank You

well i got a kingquad 700, i got 73 mph out of it bone stock, i have had it in water up a few inches under the racks and i have not had the belt slip yet, i have had it since may. i have not had a chance to race any other big bores, but i do blow by them on the trails because retires are dirving the other big bores. think that anwsers your questions.

I am starting to like these Suzukis more and more. I am reading a past dirt wheels and they have noting bad about it except the rear sponging breaks (big deal). I havent heard anyone say something nad about them. Everything else has had its problems hmmmm

MY buddy just got a King Quad 700 and holy S*** that thing is fast and they are sealed way better than the other belts... I raced him on my 440 and I beat him but not by much I was so suprised... The only thing out there beating us was an outlander 800 but who wants to pay 10,000 for a quad... Hope this helps you... I would definietly go with the King Quad... I have also heard good things about the Rincon with its true hydromatic transmission...

I would recomend the same 2 quads 440BEAST said, the rincon with its shaft drive, or the kind quad. Nothing but good compliments on the 2 quads. It just comes down to personal preference now between the two.

Wow I didn't think they were that fast. My buddy has a 800 polaris and he beat a stock 400 pretty bad. I might just be going to the dealership lol

EVERY quad discussed here so far is shaft drive.:huh

If belt slippage is an issue go with a Yamaha, they have the Ultramatic Tranny that keeps constant belt tension, and only slips a wet clutch when stopped like the clutch in say a Honda Foreman. Great design. Any of them should be snorkled if going in deep water though. I got the Grizzly 660 and love it!!!

Ok I have made a Decision. I am going with the King Quad. I haven't heard 1 thing bad about them. Nothing at all except the crappy air filter.

I do have 1 question. I rode my buddies Polaris 800. This thing feels fast. I took it down the road. At a dead stop the wheel pulled up about a foot and it flew to about 50MPH then it kinda slowed down. In about a 1/2 mile I got 65. How does the kind quad compare to this? I have't been able to ride one yet.

the king quad can hit 65 in about a 1/4 mile and can keep up with my 400ex through the first couple gears. also my dad can get it to stand straight up on any surface

not sure what king quad you guys are riding, i raced one and could never get it too pull a wheelie at any time. they are slow out of the hole, but top end is pretty decent, they aren't the most powerful. If power is what you are after with the sport quad feel, get a prairie 700, im me, i'll hook you up with a guy that does clutch work for around $300 and nothing out there will be able to touch it. this guy will make the thing fly. Diamond G holeshot ignition system for about $99 and you won't be able to hold it down. Trust me, I am race proven. I have these mods only on my 650 that I race in the locals and the quad has been up to 78mph during the race. The prairie is the best utility to give you the sport feeling. Just my opinion. If you are getting a quad for a smooth ride and reliability, check out the Arctic Cat 700, has the King Quad motor on it, frames are tough as nails and you can jump them as far as you want and come down smooth. I have two of these here also and I am really suprised, not to mention they have 13" of ground clearance. Really a nice machine, not race proven but hoping to be soon. We are running them on ESPN at the powersports ATV Tour. We have five guys racing them and honestly watching all the other quads break apart their frames and components, but, this is the truth, all of the arctic cats we are racing are the same ones we started with and the frames have never been touched yet. We are yet to break anything on one of these machines. They are truly a tough machine. Check them out, you won't be sorry.

here is a picture of the prairie 700 that I race in GNCC, minus the exhaust sytem.

Thanks for the pic..Thats a Awesome 4x4.

Well this is what I want. I want a 4x4 that can go mudding. Most of the time I will be riding trails and mudding with friends. I race XC on my 416ex. I was going to race the 416ex in some GP races but I noticed they have a utility class too. I know some ppl that want to race utility so we want to get that class bigger. Right now there is only like 3- 5 4x4 racing. So we are hoping to get like 10 - 20.

What I want in a 4x4

EFI-I want the EFI I have messed enough with carbs. I owned a banshee and I want to get away from that.

Reliable- I just want something that I can jump on and go.

Locker. - I will be mudding so I want a diff lock

Quick but Dosen't have to be the fastest thing around. I want a Can - Am but there just to expensive.

I would love to have a 4x4 like you Ken, but I am trying to get away from modding my machines anymore. I might put some tires and rims on it but that would be it. I have my 416ex as my sport quad.

Sounds like a Grizzly 700 would be perfect for you, or a King Quad.

Take a ride on an Outlander 800 (they're out now)or a Renegade 800 (whenever they come out).

Once you do this...the rest are gonna be like toys.

To tell ya the truth I wasn't real impressed with the 800 Can Am Outlander. It was fast but not like making everything else look like little toys. My buds Polaris 800 isn't too far behind a 800 bomb
