CDI Box??

I was wondering what the best CDI box is and where exactly does it go??

I can get cdi boxes for the 400 with no rev limiter for about $60.00 plus shipping.

Hey wyndzer where can you get one of those boxes with no limiter. Is that safe and how do the people like it if you have one?

the no limit box sounds kind of scary to me as well. i think the WB only goes to 10200, 1000 rpm more than stock. I think the best box you can get is that one from marcums that changes your timing as well. i think it changes it 5 degrees? i have the WB, not the one from marcums, but i read a post on here about it.

The WB CDI advances the timing as well. That is why you hear some people complain about hard starting in cold weather with it. WB is my choice. I tried the rest and decided for myself that the WB is the best.

Marcums all the way .......can't beat what that cdi does.......we had both kinds and marcums was a real big difference.....good luck

ok...all of you that would rather go buy the wb are stupid...the xr250 and wb are the same exact box..they bother advance timing 5 degress and the both allow 1000 more rpm...god..if you fell like you have to buy the wb and burn extra cash then fine but i'd rather save money

OK well i'm not gonna blow the extra cash on the WB rev limiter if it is the exact same as an XR250 rev limiter but what does the Marcums Box do exactly?

it allows you to blow your motor cause it has no rev limit

Marcums says there rev limiter is unlimited too so what exactly will it do??

the xr's rev box gives 1000 more rpm range while the marcums has no rev limit at all but advances timing like the xr..i don't recomend the marcums box...first time your friend get on your quad it could be toast

After talking to Duncan Racing, they advised me too take it off and re-install the stocker. The reason is this, the 400ex quits making HP @ 8000rpm plain and simple. Making it rev higher than it needs to isn't neccesary.

Plus, it really make it a MOFO to start. Once I put the stocker back on, it fires 1st time, every time.

Go to GT Thunder and check out their dynos with the rev box.......note that the graph shows alot more revs, but no more HP......think about it, I did.
