ESR cr250 ignition questions??????

ESR uses a 2001 CR250 ignition, my question is, does the ignition have to be from a 2001? would a 2000 cr250 ignition work as well? thanks guys

I believe 01-up the CR ignition is an actual CPU(digital)unit.Early models were analog,like the TRX,but with the smaller flywheel and diff timing curves.The newer ones are suppose to be more precise and have better timing curves and probaly even stronger spark

so you could actually use an ignition from 2000???????

Yes.......it will work, but the only difference will be the size of the flywheel. Like stated earlier, you need the 01 & on to get the real benefit.
