I just found out that I need to replace the clutch on my 250r that I am building. How hard is it to replace a clutch? I have never done it. But I would rather do it myself than to pay someone else, if It is not extremely difficult.

Thanks
Joe

Changing a clutch is hard at all, get a manual, that should help out alot. What year is your R? You might be able to get the 89' clutch update

the clutch update he was refering are parts that came stock on the 89R.

Changing the clutch is not that hard, the worst part is on a stock cover you need to drain all the coolant out to take the side case off. That is why i like my hinson side cases,,,,,,kinda spendy though, and the one for my 88 isnt here yet.......but SOON:D

You can change the clutch without draining the coolent if you don't disconec the radiator lines. It makes the job more of a pain and with some pipes(like lrd) it is not possible. Changeing the clutch is not hard if you posses any kind of mechanical ability.

ya i also didnt drain my raditor fluid when i did my clutch. i purchased the chilton for 250r's and when i did mine i put in fresh original springs, honda plates, and barnett fibers. so far it has worked good.
