polish?

back about a month or so ago before i registered and signed on and stuff, i saw pics where some dude polished his stock kickstart lever and something else and it looked pretty cool almost billet-ish and does anyone know what method and stuff might be needed to accomplish this?

Paint stripper (if needed), sand paper, Mother Aluminum polish, and some old rags.
