I work on aircraft, so I used a couple of rubber-lined clamps on the grab bar. It looks pretty good, you don't have to modify any part of the quad, and it's easily removable. Sorry, no picture.

I have one of the billet ones that Spudss sells. The only problem is that I never used it. LOL.

I dilled a whole through where the light used to be and bolted it on. Held up really well.

Hey Dave or K_fulk, did you guys have rubbing issues with it like that? As in the number plate rubbing on chain and brake?

No, when my shock was fully compressed it would not touch the # plate. Mine was flexible, it was held on by zip ties so it would not break it someone ran into me

dave, do you have any closer pics?

Chino886

no, but if you take your tail light off, you will see the 2 holes (you will need the rubber grommets for the tail light) then just drill 2 holes in your # plate and attach with 2 zip ties! Mine held on for 6 mos with the same 2 zip ties, and was very flexible, yet looked normal!

I'm already missing the taillight.

How do you like your axle Dave:devil:

Looks good!

I am sure you will be happy with that bad boy!

It looks like you will be over 50", is your front end wider than the rear?

No, I still have some adjusting to do, I just wanted to stick all the spacers in first to see how wide it is. I'll be pulling some out in about 10 mins.

Did you notice a difference in the test ride?

400exMO

big difference, I got so much more traction with it being that wide. It just felt so much more stable, took everything alot faster.

Dave I need help quick, I'm shortening the length of the axle, I'm leaving one spacer in, but then bolt will not tighten up the hub. Do I have to put the extra spacer on the outside of the hub inbetween the hub and nut?

Sorry for hijacking

Sorry 400exMO, got a little busy at work and did not have a chance to respond.

You have my number, don't be afraid to use it if you need help with your 400EX, but don't abuse it!

So you drilled a hole above where the 2 holes already are at for the tail light? Also, if the number plate is like touching the pipe...will that melt it? I would think so, but they are hard so I dont know?

Chino- I had mine like you did, but everytime I went over a jump it would fly up in the air, and it looked weird...

RytM1- Where did you get that? Or if you dont use it, would you be interested in selling it? Thanks...

What are you doing looking at your number plate when you are riding?

I don't think mine moved, I used 2 zipties and I don't think it moved.

lol, my buddies told me about it, then I had one of them drive it and I saw it...I had 2 just as you do. It flips up to easy and looked stupid. To me anyways...

If you take the black rubber things off its shaped like a C. another thing with being higher it has a little more support so it doesn't move around as much.

Yes if it touches the pipe it will melt. But with the picture being at that angle it just looks like its touching.

I drilled the holes about half way up and then cut the number plate so that it would fit and not touch the pipe...It looks good, the only bad thig about it is that I drew a line on it so I could see where to cut...and I drew on the front!! Stupid, but the number should cover most of it.

It is very strong and sturdy too...I think that is the best way to do this on a 400ex...
