Need some help

2000 400ex, has gas, gettin fuel, but runs like CRAP and dies when u give it throttle


Sputters and dies. No adjusments to the air intake have been made. it is all stock.


Any suggestions on what it might be?

there are tons of things that it could be but i'll give you some of the top ranking things to check out

replace the spark plug...if the plug is cracked of fouled it wont run right

look at the cdi box underneath the front fender and see if it has any cracks on it....and check the wire going from the box to the plug to see if it has any cracks or tears (the plug wire hooks directly to the cdi box)

put some dry gas in your tank or just drain it and put in fresh fuel....there might be water in the fuel

take the carb apart and spray out with carb and choke cleaner to make sure no debris is in it

make sure that your air filter isnt cloged up with dirt
