chain fell off

My chain fell off at my race last saturday and i have no idea why..I got it back on to finish the last half lap of the race and figured when i looked at it the chain would have extra slack but it didn't. So it didnt come off because it was too tight or loose so what was it? My only guess is a small rock got caugh in it and slipped the chain off. Can anyone else back me up on this? It came off on the landing off a jump but I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

i would get urself a good case saver too, my chain came off on a step down and wrapped around the front sprocket and busted up my side case.

Get an aftermarket chain roller that bolt to the sub frame. It puts tension on the chain during full compression of the rear suspension to keep it from coming off. PEP and Woodward Specialties makes them.
