Jetting Again

Alright, ive been working on my carb on my 400ex for 2 days straight, all i have done is a kand n filter and white bros e series slip on, and i CANT GET THE JETTING RIGHT, its really frustrating me. For the time being i want my air box lid on. I also cant get the screws out to put the new needle in, because i am in fear of stripping them, because the guy before me seems to have almost stripped them anyways. I NEED HELP!!!! I can get it to start with the choke on, but as soon as i shut the choke off (even slowly) it dies right away. HELP ME!!!! This is my first rejetting and i am having a pretty hard time. Any help offered is appreciated.

u need to first tell us what jets you have put in it. main jet -what size, pilot jet - what size. if your leaving the lid on, you will not need to go huge on jets, i think the stock is main is 148 so try a 150 or 155. to start.
