In the Mag it said the power steering was nice. They liked it. I was looking at Rhinos but there too expensive. I liked brute forces and the Can am but the Can am is expensive and I hate to say it but I am starting to like EFI

and a 95 350 wolverine for the wife.Next year getting the griz for the wife.I love the efi on the rap.Dirt wheels loved the power steering on the griz so thats good anuff for me.

they did say that they liked the power steering but they also said that it was under powered for a big bore quad.

and as for me i like lots of power for the mud.

09-18-2006, 12:55 PM
Never said
under powered-not as much as say 800 twins-but they said they were never lookin for more power. You may want to read it again.Oh funny thing about efi-its seamless power there is more power there then you think there is ITS JUST SO SMOOTH.-------P.S.ONLY 600 POUNDS ----NOT 700 PLUS LIKE THE TWINS -----P.P.S.PIPE IT,EFI CONTROLER,AIRBOX,BYE BYE TWINS

well they also said that the suzuki 700 had more power with a better response. and the suzuki also only weighs 602 lbs. and is alot cheaper.

09-18-2006, 01:08 PM
tamer yet suitable lift off compared to the outlander 800 and suzuki 700-thats just how its clutchs are set up for take off.

09-18-2006, 01:10 PM
wait for the shoot out.:macho

I think I may have to re read the article. I can't wait for the reviews though.

funny stuff---starting to think he can't read lol

Which 450?
10-04-2006, 06:03 PM
Weighs just about the same as all the twins, dont know what u are talking about? twins have more throttle response, torque and speed. I have a twin, and my neighbor has the 700 grizz, so say what u want I dont care. Id wait for the '08's to come out, I dont care what anyone says, majority of 1st year yamahas always have major problems

10-04-2006, 07:05 PM
twin ya got?

Which 450?
10-05-2006, 01:37 PM
I got a bf750, he has a grizz 660 and 700, the 660 steers almost as easily as the 700, I dont know what he did to it, but it handles like a damn sport bike. My bf's handling is similar to a jet ski's. He has stock tires, I got 26" kenda executioners, added about 50 more lbs of rolling weight, I weigh about 50 lbs more then him, and he still cant keep up with me on the 700 on a straight line

Sorry top say but that statement is true for many other companies out there also. I see no reason in waiting to buy what you want. If there are major problems they are fixed with a recall. Not only that but these companies have been out for many years and these brand new machines are holding up better today then they ever.

I haven't rode the grizz 700 but "quad" magazine said they loved the power steering. With it in "Dif Lock" you still have control of which way the bike went.

I've rode the grizz 660 and the kingquad 700 and they ride the same to me. Of course the kingquad had a little more power under the seat.

Any of the newer machines you look at or decide to get I'll bet money you won't be let down. Yeah there are differences but only you can decide what you like and dislike.

I would never buy a first year model, or the first year year after a major over haul, by any company. The second and third years are always better.

My friend just bought one. Seems like a good machine. Only had it for 2 days though so too early to tell

I would say all manufacturers have this issue...... look at the suzuki LTR-450.... Their first year, most of them got new frames due to the rear shock mount....

you say that till you ride one...why is it retarded to make your life easier and incorportat a steering dampener all in one.

my pops bought one 2 months back and LOVES it. i have ridden it myself and the only complaint i have is it seems wide between my legs. but that coudl be cause i am used to a 450r.

The reason its wide between your legs is because thats a mans quad. Us men that own them have a huge sack. Un like the boys that own them polaris, suzuki and kaws.

That's right bud! I'd show the rear of my Grizz...but can't because I may get in trouble if I did.

And thanks for the compliment.

True on the speed. But not the handling. I ride with a guy who has the King 700 and when we trade quads, we both agree the Grizz is worlds better. He's trading in.

depends on rider too. My buddie has (well had traded it in on a street bike today:ermm: ) a grizzly. he loves it, I still prefer my king. Feels top heavy to me. and he prefers his grizz

I dunno its just what you feel comfortable on.

True. I am having my seat shaved a couple inches.

Oh yeah...risers and bars make a sweet difference too. Here are mine.

Interesting bar set-up.
Does it get rid of the flexy feeling of stock bars?
What did that set-up cost?

My friend jake just bought a brand new one and the thing broke after 5 months of use. We at first thought the exaust come loose cause it had no power and was making a weird loud sound, plus u dont expect big problems with a new quad. We got more into it and well the valves are all screwed up and yamaha wont fix it. His quad might just be a lemon but i will never buy one thats for sure.

They adjust the valves on first service. Seems like your buddy don't take care of his per owners manual.

Everybody else that has them loves them and has zero problems.
