Well since i blew my motor last month, and have had alot of the quad tore down, it's been giving me some ideas. Pretty much with this one thing leads to me wanting to do something, that needs something else done to be right, and so on.
I got the cases split, the whole motor is totaly apart. The first time I painted the cases, I had to do it with the whole motor together, and the paint just never took a hold good to the cases. So they are getting sand blasted and painted. One of the motor mounts on a case broke, so I'm gonna fabricate a piece to weld into that. So that a crack like that doesn't happen again, I want to weld a motor mount onto the frame right in front of the linkage mount.
Since I'm welding on the frame, I want to go over all my gussests again that I welded in a while ago, and re-do my shotty welds from when I first started welding. So that means the frame will get painted again. I'll find a place where I can get the whole frame sand blasted before paint, where as I just scuffed down the old paint last time.
I also started making a flip top subframe mount. I have a stock frame, and I thought it would be trick to make something that would act like a flip top that you find on high dollar frames, but have it on my stocker, and have it removeable. Then I saw the frame that pappy is doing for his quad make over, and it was a stock 250r frame, that has the subframe cut off, and made to that it can be taken on and off, so that is my latest idea too. I'll post some starter pics tomorow.
