HRC kit problem

Well I put my jet kit and pipe on yesterday and it ran fine afterwards. Today I had the dealer put the cam in and now its missing out in the mid and high rpm's. Anybody else have that problem after installing the HRC kit?

Take the air box lid off and see if it runs better, if it does buy 6 Uni 1 inch air filters and put them in the air box lid.

what is your jetting? mainjet? needle and clip position? pilot jet? fuel screw? air box lid on or off? are you sure you are just not hitting the rev limiter?

I had the same problem.. if its doin what I describe here. Mine felt not to bad, but lacked a little in the mid and wouldn't hit the rev limiter. It almost sounded like an early rev limiter. its sounds like it should be revving out more. If yours is doin this, my cam timing was off 2 teeth. Once i retimed it, holy chit hang on boy!

The lid is still on it and I think that is the problem. After looking at the HRC kit manual it states to remove air cleaner housing cover AND retainers. So I figure since the retainers are to be taken off that the lid is suppose to be off?

the HRC kit should come with its own jets and its own air box lid.

it does'nt come with airbox lid

but mine does the samething sometimes and did you get everything thing adjusted like the valves and stuff because that could be the problem but I am taking mine it to get the first adjustment for the first 25 hours this week

04-05 models come with a lid that has openings cut in it and a mud flap over the filter, but the 06 models are supposed to run with no lid with the hrc kit.

What jet did you put in it?

Went for a spin today without the lid and it runs GREAT! The HRC kit made a big difference throughout the rpm range:devil:
