I have a 416ex with an e-series slipon, a k&n power kit, and six one inch holes in my airbox lid. I am running a 42 pilot, and a 155 main. The mixture screw is 1 3/4 turns out. When I let off from fourth gear wide open, there are a couple little backfires. If I take off the airbox lid it doesn't backfire and it feels alot better. This makes no sense to me. By taking the lid off it makes it run leaner, which should make it backfire worse, Right?? What am I doing wrong?
