On my 400EX i bottom out all the time on the track with the stock settings. Would these help me out?

If I moved the front shock from setting IV to V. Does that help bottoming? I heard it still bottoms with the same amount of force it only makes the ride harsher.

And for the rear if I turned the rebound counterclockwise 1/4 turn and compression clockwise 1/2 turn.

Would i notice a difference with those settings? Are there any other settings on the shocks?

Thanks

I guess I will just mess with the adjustments.

if you're hitting jumps, your only choice to help with bottoming is to do like you said on the fronts. it will still bottom, but that's your only choice with stock shocks. it will ride rougher when you're going slow.

for the rear, you really have to play around with rebound to get it right. try not to make it to "bouncy" so it won't buck you off. just dial the compression in until it feels good. the notes in your question are a good place to start.
