300ex aftermarket cdi problems!

I recently purchased an aftermarket cdi for my 300ex. While riding my quad, with the new cdi on, the quad starts missing at mid rpms thru high rpms. Now i know that the aftermarket cdi advances my timing curve and raises my rpm limit, but i was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem with an aftermarket cdi or if anyone had any suggestions on the matter.
