Hi again,

I was wondering what are those shocks on my R... Are those 400ex one ?

Is it the reason why my A-Arms are so angled, when they are normally almost parrarel to the ground on the stock R I saw...

Thanks

Thanks for your input...

Anybody else can confirm ?

The shocks are good but it just make the quad ugly IMO since the front sit too high...and not wide...

Grr damn

Thanks everybody

Would going back to R shocks make me wider?

The 400ex calipers are only 1-piston right?

I hate the guy who sold me the quad fitted with any honda parts...Oh well I didn't pay it a lot and it still have the R engine

250R calipers will not fit on 400EX spindles unless you spend $150~$200 on the adpapters or make your own.

Your choices are:
(1) Live with your current front brake setup
(2) get some 250R calipers and buy/make the adpater
(3) Find some 250R spindles, calipers... if you get '88-'89 spindles the 400EX hubs should fit
(4) Buy brand new 450R calipers, spindles and hubs

To make it wider:
(1) be a cheapo and use the flaky spacers
(2) get wider arms and have the shocks revalved for the arms
(3) get wider arms and better shocks (used will save you money)

My ASR +2+1 arms might be up for grabs next week. I am currently waiting for my Walsh arms to arrive.

TRy adjusting the ride height. The spring is sitting on the adjuster. The shock base has a small protrusion that the piece with the "stairsteps" sits on.Unload the spring so you can turn the stairstep piece. This changes the tension on the spring raising or lowering the quad depending where you set the adjuster.Looks like you at max height now.

250r calipers will fit on 400ex spindles it requires some grinding and drilling one extra hole in the mount tab on the spindle, I know it sounds a little mickey mouse but it is not if you seen it you couldn't even tell it had beed modded!
