I am needing some help. I am thinking about getting another mustang around an 87-93 body style with a 5.0, of course. Does anyone know roughly what kind of fuel mileage they get. With school and work I need something that gets pretty good, because 10 mpg in my truck just insn't cutting it. Thanks for the help.

I had a 93 GT that had some mild mods. (exhaust, cold air intake, underdrive pulleys, 3.55 gears.) I would average about 17 around town, and 25 on the freeway. Of course, the more you use your right foot, the lower mileage you can expect.:D

my uncles 92 LX with a carbed 306 using a Edelbrock RPM air gap, Holley 670 carb, World Products heads, Hooker headers, 3" duals with flows, etc. averages around 10...

my aunts 93 Cobra with hookers, flows, and some other bolt ons gets around 14...

and my cousins old 89 GT mostly stock got around 15...

at one point in time they had 6 foxbodies at that house...

i had a 95 with the 5.0, i would say even a stock car, what he says is pretty close, maybe just a bit better, i think i was getting about 20 in the city and about 27 on the hwy (driving 75)

now i have a 2002, which is about the same in the city but 28-29 on the hwy

You didn't have a 5.0 in 95 because they stopped making them in 94.

95 was the last year of the 5.0. They went to the 4.6 in 96'.

My 86'GT averages about 22-23mpg to and from work. About 75%hwy/25%city. Strickly highway I've see 26mpg. The engine is stock w/205kmiles, 2.73's, Underdrives/electric fan/65mmTB/smog delete/off-road H-pipe and F/M cat back.

Hey guys thanks for all the help. That is good enough gas mileage for me, so that means now all I need to do is find one. Thanks.
