I'm NOT writing this to cause any waves for members selling/buying things here at the forum.
But...what I AM doing in trying to make you aware of WHAT CAN happen, as it did recently to myself in a transaction listed on another forum.
THIS IS THE WAY IT HAPPENED ON THE *OTHER* FORUM

Here's what transpired from it.
Just thought I'd let everyone here know, there is a scammer amongst the members here. I'm not sure the forum name they use, but.
I have a 1967 van for sale in the classified section. Someone sent me an e-mail asking about it. AKA Mike Hampton inquired info.
I sent detailed photo's and information, and he stated he was sending a cashiers check....which I recieved.
The cashiers check was found to bogus after contacting the bank it was drawn on. I called that bank directly via a search on the net.
I'm only writing this to inform other members here what's going on, and to be aware of it.
Just an FYI.....
The bank that the check was drawn on is:
Stillwater National Bank & Trust Company
Stillwater, Tulsa, OklahomaCity, Chichasha
With the account 200629
All information was turned into local Sherriffs office and reported to the FBI at www.ic3.gov
