what can I do to make my Suzuki Z250 a better race quad. I already have a pro circuit pipe, wheel spacers and it's been jetted.

Get rid of the wheel spacers, all they do is screw up the geometry of the front end. After pipe, suspension would be the next step. Start out with wider a-arms and axle, then shocks.

the problem is that my quad is so narrow that when i took the corners it would tip. i had to go a lot slower so that it didn't tip, which made me lose a lot of time per lap. i'm thinking about widening the front too. but what i really want is to ride my dad's Z400

ok u can get a k&n air filter and u can also get uni air boxx vents that will help and dey dont sell shocks 4 a z250 so u can use any shocks from a 250ex like wocks shocks dey fitted my boys z250 alsoget rid of da wheele spacers cause if u hit a jump ull bend tha bak axle and u can change tha tire sizes so u can get top end or bottom end o and ull need nerf bar and handle barz thats wat i have on my 2006 250ex dont even try lookin 4 extended a-arms cause dey dont have 4 a z250 u can get dease parts at www.rockymountainatv.com u can get work performance shocks 4 a 250ex but it fits z250s at www.worldwideperformance1.com let me now if u have any problems peace

ok....thnx....i already have the nerf bars and i'm looking into a k&n filter.....i don't understand why taking off the wheel spacers would be better because it seemed to make such a huge difference? i know that it could break the axel but i don't take the big jumps cause my suspension sux...i'll definately look at the shocks. thanx again

I don't know why everyone is against wheel spacers. I have raced with them for 3 years and hit jumps that supose to brake them or bend an axle. I have hit table tops that are 80ft long and cleared it with my 300ex and had no problems with the axle at all. front spacers dont help the balljoints but if your looking to get it alittle wider and not buy spacers get just flip the rims around. The valve stem may hit the caliper. I have made it so I can flip the wheels around on my dads z400 and the valve stem wont hit because the rims are moved away from the hubs by about a 1/4 of an inch by bolts and nuts. Yes I do race MX on them and it makes the quad handle better than stock. The nuts and bolts are grade 8 for car and truck suspension.

i would keep the wheel spacers, i know your not going to be clearing tripples so they will be ok

if your tipping when turning your not leaning enough, my buddy has a stock 300ex and kept tipping around a berm, i took it for a spin and it didnt tip at all becuase i was leaning

thank you....i don't know how this turned into an arguement about spelling but spelling doesn't really matter as long as you can understand what the person means...anyways thanks to everyone that posted advice

lets just skip all the bull**** what you need to to for a better race quad is buy a better race quad. there is no 4 stroke 250 with enough power or suspension to race with.

thanks for the sugestions..but the problem is solved.....i'm now racing my dad's z400:D i wasn't planning on staying on the 250 i just wanted to know what i could do to make it better while i was racing it
