hey guys i was just wondering what kind of cam to get for the woods for my 2006 450r i just want some good power on the bottom end and mid and not loose to much on top though,

i race cross country and on my 06 450r i use a stock piston with a dirt bike head gasket, and a 2002 dirt bike cam, i have all kinds of low end and from mid on it keeps pulling, i also have a 39 tooth rear sprocket

I no alot of people that are putting the stock 04 and 05 cams in the 06. I have a sage one hot cam in my 04.

i had a stage 1 hotcam but changed to HRC for MX.. My Stage 1 hotcam is for sale though! Ton of bottom and mid.. ask the rest of the guys or go to the hotcam website.

i'm running a stage 1 hotcam, 11.5:1 Je, 13/39 Gearing. I think its great for the woods!!

if it is really really tight woods then get the 05 crf cam. It adds so much bottom end it is crazy how fast it revs up. If it is a little more open then do the 02 crf cam. I have one of each in my two different quads and they are both great cams.

Force try the stock gearing. You get alot more top end.

Exactly, I run the 05 CRF cam and my brother runs the 02 CRF cam. Both are nice but the 05 has more bottom IMO.
