hey im new to quads, i had a rm 250, but know i got this 2001 honda 300 ex...

i was wondering on these things how many mL of oil goes into a 300 ex, since i don't have the manual, also, do i have to change an oil filter?

is there only one bolt that drains the oil?

Thanks guys

yes the one drain bolt is on the bottom of the motor. 300ex's take 1.6 quarts of oil. you can take that to the bank cus i changed my oil regularly on my old 300ex.

could i just use ordinary oil like penzoil or gtx, or something like that since i do change my oil every 2-3 rides?

i used to run halvoline 10w40 in my honda recon(couple years ago), and never had the first problem.... i would get non synthetic though. alot of people i know with EX's run the Castrol green cap non synthetic and have no problems with it. so yea i dont see nothing wrong with that. besides dude its a honda 300ex, you cant destroy. trust me i tryed lol.
