Many times there is a lever on the handle, just depress the little handle and the burnt out electrode will probably fall out. Then just put the new electrode in, but it all depends on the handle. I hope this helps you out.

There is a handle sticking out. Pull it towards the grip, and put a new electrode in it. There is most likely a slot which holds the electrode in place. I would recommend 1/8 inch electrodes for 1/4 inch steel, or thinner for thinner steel, or vise versa. I would also recommend 6013 rod for starters, assuming the machine is set for AC. Later you can move up to 7018, but it requires more amps, and it a little harder to weld with. Don't mess with 6011. They penetrate too deep, and leave a mess, unless you can control it, or are using thick steel.

try just pulling the electrode out, i don't know. I know that you can pich up new handles at any welding dealer, and any farm supply stores. THey are usually fairly reasonable also. If anything call the person you bought the welder from.
