alright this is my first post so im new to this forum thing so my question,

i read on here about a few people getting kickstarts on their ER's so does anyone know if a honda dealer can get e-start parts off an 06 or 400ex or something and put it on an 04? i saw the goki one but to me that kit is just "messy" in my opinion.

thanks :)

There is a company called Goki that makes an e start for the 450r. I believe it is about $600. It was featured in the may 2006 Dirt Wheels. If your interested, email me your address and I will tear out the page and send it to you. john@pilotrandc.com.

:huh He just said he doesn't like the Goki and frankly most people don't. I like the kicker, no dead batteries, no extra wires, and still very easy to kick even with 12.25:1 piston and low end cam.

The only other way to put an e-start on an 04/05 is to put an 06 engine in the early model frame. LMAO, there are quite a few people on ER's that wish for a kicker. pff no thanks

well dirtdevil i agree about the extra stuff but it is stressful when your trail riding (with 13 t sprocket) and break down on the side of a hill or even worse when im out mudbogging it (i know its unhealthy for the r but its fun) and kill it right in the middle where e start is very welcome in these situations, and i thought about a 12 t sprocket but i dont think it would change the 1st gear much.

This is true, getting stuck on a hill does suck and takes some pretty good speed and cordination to kick it and keep it on all fours. I've been there but only once. Most hills I stall on you wouldn't want to try and get going again, you back down. But I ride my R in the desert and dunes mostly, wide open areas.

You could try the Goki or get an 06 engine and electronics for the frame, then sell you stuff. I dunno, maybe just practice more at not stalling or getting stuck. For cheaper than an E-start you could get the Z-start recluse clutch kit.

I can kick mine on very step hills and sometimes I can go up them from dead stop, and these are no kiddie hills.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this yet....but.....There is a company called Goki that makes an e start for the 450r. It costs around $600. Check the May 2006 issue of dirtwheels.

What is Goki anyway?

IMO the Goki setup looks horrible.
You don't need an electric start anyway. Only causes more troubles.

:p seriously! The GOKI is mentioned like crazy,, but what wasn't mentioned is that the GOKI E-Start doesn't effect the kick start capability which means you get the best of both worlds with the 04/05! E-Start it and if the battery dies, kick the *******! Just my .02
