i know the jetting sizes are way different, but do both carbs use the sme type of hex head jet? Reason i ask is because i have a huge selection of jets for my stock carb, but if i buy a FCR i was wondering if i would need another selection.

FCRs use the same hex head main jets. Pilots are different though.

i think you can use all of the stock cables. yes, you will use the hot start and the TPS. the TPS is not a complete plug in process though. i don't know the wiring diagram off the top of my head but if you search for it i bet you can find it.

and actually the FCR40mm's do use the same pilot jets as the stock carb. the 39's and 41's are different though.

Cool. I didn't know that. That's weird that they're different.

yeah, the FCR 40mm's off of the CRF 450 dirtbike are a newer version of the FCR carb so it is a little different.
