i would do your fronts first then your rear. everyone i know likes there rear shock but hates the stock front. but i would recommend elka i cant speak for the mac daddy conversion but i bought there rear shock and i like it alot but my fronts were setup a little too stiff.

i have elka triple rates w/ ssd up front and a mac daddy rebuild in the rear. if you race at all i'd go with a new elka rear shock. just my though. definatly get new fronts, the stock ones are good for stock but with a new rear shock you wont like your stock fronts.

I think rear is like 500 but if you race I think thats the way to go.

Hey,i was wodnering,how much sagg can you get from this bad boy? I eman,my 400 looks like a cat with its ***** up in the air,so will the Mac-Daddy or PEP ZPS conversion tot he rear,make her alot lower in the back?and by how much?

u can adjust your stock 400ex shock to sit lower right now, and dont say it will bottom out easier because it wont i like to have my back of the quad sit a little lower than my front.

An alternative is to have Elka do the rear conversion themselves, they use a dual rate setup w the ssd and its $375
I have the rear conversion from TCS and its as good as any Race shock setup.

The MacDaddy conversion will lower your ride height about 1.5" to 2". Backing off the preload on the stock shock will lower your ride height but WILL make it softer and bottom out easier.

Hey Jeff,or anybody, i need help. Haha LOL I screwed up bad I think. I dunno why i did it.

But I was backing off the pre-load on the rear,when i said Hey whats this do,and turned that big knob (that goes around the outside of the adjuster screw on top) and oil starded shooting out,so I quick tried to turn it back in,but ohh no,i lost about a cup of oil or so,so what do I do?

It still has compression and all,can I re-fill it myself? Or just get it done,or wait til she blows and then have it re-valved and all,or re-serviced?

also,for some reason,I kinda stripped out the top adjuster screw on the rear shock,so how can I fix that too? Just gove it to Marcum to fix,since he is 20min away from me?

Pro400ex, I would have PM"ed jeff. Your story is funny though. Jeff could you PM' for the price of the mac daddy prices and option. I will be buying the elkas pretty soon and like a rear shocks that go with them. I'm getting the SSD fronts.
