My neighbor got omf air scoops for his 400ex about a month ago and just a couple of weeks ago his plastics were you bolt them on broke! We installed them as the little sheet of paper said to. did this happen to any one else?

nope...i use tinner scoops.:D

seriously..contact omf maybe they will help your freind out.

No problems here. Was he doing like 90 mph? Are both sides broke?

mine did were the bolt goes in around the hole....it works fine but a lil crack in plastic

no just ridding at the mx trax. yea on both sides.

Both of my broke at that place to. I think scoops make it stiff for the plactic if you crash or something.

Guess you should have gone with tinner's aka Jim Gerachi of GCD!! Better quality, better price.

No problems with mine at all. I think the OMF have a smoother look and worth the extra money.

I've NEVER had a problem with mine,, All the guys I ride with think they are pretty cool looking too... OMF Is the way to go...

I got a good deal on them. The store that I bought them didn't no whats the retain on them and sold them to me for 45.00 dollars. I like mine and my plastics was already beat. and the air scoops held the plastic in better. But I think it doesn't let the palstic to absorb the energy when you crash causing the crack instead of flex. I could probly happen to the tinner scoops as will. I happey with my scoops. I think the look alot better than tinner.

Thanks that was one of my first dig pictures ever. I will have to get some better ones now that I am a little better at it. I try to keep it as nice as I can.

The scoops look sweet in red. I have polished mine
Its look alot better all polished than the normall one's with stickers.

Tinners scoops dont mount on the plastic, they mount up to the frame, and are more solid. You could make Tinners scoops look like OMF's easy smeasy, just cut part of a moon cut in the front??:confused:

Well the OMF are mounted on the frame two spots. Then the plastic mounts outer part of the fender. Its a works real good. It holds the plastic good. I like how it replaced the mounts.
