I got the chance to read a '83-6 team honda atv riders contract. Way back then a base contract was written for him to collect a whole $30,000.00 a year. Bonuses for wins ( four to five figures depending on what race and more if he got the series win) and promotions added to that amount. Outside sponsors added even more with $$ and free products.
JT Racing, Scott goggles, Terry cables, K&N, Ohtsu tires, OMF, Mitchell rims, Hondaline were some of the sponsors.

Todays team riders make some nice dinero for riding atvs.

heres another question, how much do the mechanics that work on the pros bikes get? or the development team behind the race season bike

I believe they make around 130,000 a year and with that all their traveling, camping, and all those goodies are paid for. Like said before they also have jobs.

This is kind of a loaded question that will be different for every pro rider. They have their racing winnings ( which might be 20,000 - 30,000 in a good year ), then they have sponserships and money from endorsing that sponsers products is where most of the money comes from. With an exception to riders like Jones, Gust, Ballance, that have full blown quad sponsers and they are gonna make $100,000 + from their respective sponsers + their race winnings and all their seperate product sponser endorsements. So yeah I would say those three for sure are making around $200,000 a year possibly more. And then yes there are those that have jobs and can still ride at the professional level, but I have found most pro's are very well off anyway if you know what I mean $$$$$.

well i know if someone went and got all the holeshots and won every heat in the WPSA for all the races, then they would make over 100,000. But the chances of that happening are slim. lmao

I know a few of them are .....I live near a mx pro and his family has got some serious money and a he told me there are a few others that are pretty well off.

I read in a DWMag or Atv Sport, that Ballance said he made around $80,000 a year base...and with incentives could go over 6 figures.

Dunno know if it's true or not???
