hey i just put my axle on and i love the way it looks i cant wait to ride it but it is so much wider than the back so my next mod is going to be +2+1 a-arms or even +3+1s but i think only +2 since i still ride in woods and dont race motocross yet
but lets get to my question i was going to go with lonestar a-arms but i was told buguard was just as good if not better and cheaper any info on buguard or bugard w/e would be appreciated i have heard of them and seen them but dont know much about them

also are krypton super molly arms any good i saw them in a moto joe catolouge i have and they look decent but i also dont know much about them either
what are some other suggestions my uncle has roll design front end and it is really nice but they dont make one for a 300 also i have works dual rate shox up front with rezzies are the shock mounts in the same spot or do i need to get new shox?

The best a-arms for the money, is the houser standard 2plus. You can also get them in 1" for woods riding. They go for like 470.00 for the set.
They are made alot better than the sets you have mention besides the roll design. The 3plus a-arms are long travel which only can be used with long travel shocks which cost alot more money. Your shocks will have to be modifyed to work with 400ex a-arms.

for the money it is best that you convert to a 400 front end. because, companies like houser, laeger, and jd's don't make a 300 a-arm. And just have works build you shock, thats what i did.

If its true that these companies don't make a-arms for a 300ex. And you are going to buy 400ex a-arms. I would reccomend herrmannracing.com These are great quality at a bargin price !!

do the 400ex a-arms match perfectly does that go the same for aftermarket 400ex a-arms? how much wider are the stock a-arms on a 400 then they are on a 300?
if i get +1 400ex a-arms what would that make my 300?
i really would like top get a-arms made for my bike the krypton arms look like they are good quality does anyone know anything about them?

Take a look at Lonestar, yes they make a-arms for the 300. They are high quality and they are the only set that allows you to adjust both caster and camber and still use stock spindles. If you ride woods and mx I woould recommend +1 +1

08-23-2002, 08:36 AM
DO NOT GET +1 forward it will make it handle worse the way a 250r is setup u need the 1 forward to "move" the motor back where as a 400ex u wanna move the motor forward thats why the hot set up is +1 1/4 rear swingarm its moving the weight bias and its much diff in a 400ex than a 250r, if u plan on racing nationals go wit +2 if u just race at lil tracks and ride +3 is ok but not legal for nationals

I dissagree +3 are legal at the Nats. most your big boys are running +4. With the +4 your have to run a greater offset wheel and most of them a narowed chassis. +3 you can still run the standard offset with a standard width chassis and be ok. Their is a lot of hype that with +3 you have to run a 4x1 offset front wheel, this is not true. I run +3 Houser and have standard offset ITP race wheels on the front and I pass inspection everytime.

try strong arm, i have heard great things about them, and a few guys that i race with have them. they look very high quality! don't go with lonestar, they are way over priced. you can get the strong arm's from www.hsdracing.com

Laeger +2" a-arms with +1" Douglas red label rims. 49" inches wide, 10.5" of front wheel travel. $572 a set strait from Laeger.

i want my front end to be as wide as my rear or even a little wider so i want +2 and i figured +2+1 would be a better set up i like the eager arms a lot but i wasnt aware of them making arms for a 300 and lonestar is what i was originally going to go with but they are so much money

oh haha were talkin 300ex i thought 400ex on a 400ex +3 exceeds the 50 inch width limit

I bough the Herrmann. But have not got them yet. I sent them a money order, and the had cashed it. I called them up and they said they never got the money order. I told them that the bank said it was cashed. He said that well maybe they got the money order but they could not varifiy if they had cash it. So they mad me find out If the had cash my check. What A bunch crap. I not happy with Brad herrmann. I Had to go thropugh all this crap to prove they had cash it and pay 10.00 to the poeple that issue the money orders and whats for the photo copy of the cashed money to prove they had recieved.

They're expensive compared to others. They look like Lonestar a-arms. Cost the same. For the same quaity, you should buy herrmann or houser, They sell for under 500 dollars. Plus the herrmann you can get powder coated any color for free.

At one time..not long ago...I had Krypton +2+1 a-arms.
I bought them from Moto-Joe.com or Shocconnection.com.
I think they are the same now.
I bought triple rate Works shocks from them also.
I had no problems with the set-up.
I recently sold that set-up on Ebay for about $900.
Now I have Houser +3 Long Travels with Elka SSD Shocks.
I am AGAIN happy with the product.
To be honest...
I didn't need new a-arms and shocks...
But to "keep up with the Jone's"...or my buddies.
I bought them.
Just because you have the " coolist Stuff"...
Doesnt mean your the best quad rider.
Just my $.02

I have AMERICAN STAR RACING A-arms, they are super heavy duty and guaranteed for life. They were $599 but well worth the money

well, obviously Laeger makes aarms for the 300, because that's what I have, and they are the same price as the lsr's (700), and they are the only two brands I would buy for mx. I know too many people that have bought cheap arms that have broken.

well i think i am going to go with lonestar although they are kind of expensive i am going to go with +2 should i get the +1 forward or leave it?
how do i order the a-arms to make them for elka dual rate fronts?
how much do u think the front end is going to ring me up i was figuring 700 for the a-arms the elka dual rate with adjustable rebound and compression are??$?? and longer steel braided brake cables are about 100 so it would be i am geussing around $1400? does that sound about rite?

Hi guys,

Stock 250X / 300EX are 1" shorter than 400EX/250R
Yes our +3 400EX arms are under the 50" limit.
...therefore on a 300EX you want +4 arms to be at max width.

We make them any width you want.

The hot set ups for GNCC 300EX are +11 & relocated shock bracket for a longer 14-1/4" shock that increases wheel travel.

The hot MX set up is +3 or +4 with the relocated shock bracket for a longer 14-1/2" shock.
