Hey I have a '99 F250 and my ABS light just came on, is this something I should worry about?? I have a few buddies that have been driving with their ABS lights on for years. Is it an expensive fix?

Just pull the connectors apart and clean them. That will usually take care of the problem. You might have to dis-connect the battery for 5 mins. to reset the computer.

If you hear a humming from the front end, then you could also have bad wheel bearing/hub assemblies.

like said, it's usually just a dirty connection. usually.

on most the cars i've owned (that had abs) i drive with the abs light on constantly because i pull it's fuse the second i find it.

Usually it's just a dirty/bad wheel sensor. try cleaning the wheel sensors with some brake parts cleaner and reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes.

Check your brake fluid, and clean the connections at the ABS pump. If this doesn't fix it, I'd take it in, and get a code. A local shop here will test it, and tell you what is wrong, what you need, and everything else for under 25 bucks.
