My dad left me his 16 foot boat when he passed on, actually me and my brother. Neither one of us really uses it so we are going to sell it.

Its either a 16 or 18 foot, 35 hp evinrude, stick steering, semi v flatbottom. Its in really good shape but I have no idea what these things sell for. Ive been searching ebay and the like, but not finding anything real close to it.

It does have a trailer and its in great shape also.

Any help apreciated

dont base it off any sites like kelly blue book or nadaguide.com all boats and pwc's go for a lot more then they retail for.

i would say 4,800-5200... I just bought a Used EXPRESS boat in awesome condtition for 8,500... and I go fishing about 4-5 days a week if i can, or even just out riding it I also own a couple jetski's too... but that is a nice river boat for someone who loves fishing rivers...;)

I wouldn't list it for anything less than $5500 and I wouldn't take any less than $5000 .

Price out the motor itself and you'll see it's probably worth well over $3500 alone .

In my area , that boat would sell for no less than $10 000 CND , so $5500 USD would be a steal .

Also Tracker make awesome boats , so whoever buys it will have an awesome deal .

It would make a hell of a duck boat....
Pappy, I will post on our duck hunting forums that you have it for sale, you will prolly get a lot of calls. What city and state are you from, again?
Dont think you will have any problems selling it. :D

Coming from an avid waterfowl hunter...I have priced many many boats like that. We hunt out of a grizzly that is just like that, only ours has consoles for the driver and passenger. Pappys boat is well worth $5000...hell...just the motor alone is worth $1500. ;)

I've had a lot of boats in my time. As a maater of fact, I just bought a 3rd boat yesterday, a Lund.

That motor, with controls, went for about $2500 new. mMaybe a couple hundred more, but not much.

The hull probably went for about 3K, if that. No offense, but Tracker boats are pretty much known for being floating turds,
ie: not very high quality=. They sell very cheap, beacuase they are made very cheap. I had one. I know. The rivets and/or welds crack and leak. The transoms are famous for cracking.

The trailer was about 6-$700 new, if that.

Again, no offense, but if you put a pricetag over 3 grand on that rig, I hope you have a place to store it for a long, long time.

LOL, I garuntee if I wanted it gone for $5K I could have it sold in less then 2 or 3 days:p Did noone read that I did call the boat place and they said $5500 was a good price:p They even said they would pay $4500 for it, but they need room to make a bit of money on it in a resale:D

I will be glad to make this trip across the country, I may drive a big box truck to pick up on all these low price things everyone else seems to have for sale in thier area. Around here NOTHING is cheap. hell, roached 250r's still briong $4500:eek2:

I agree with you ....... everything seems to be cheap on the internet .... but in the real world , things actually have value .

Stick to getting $5000 for the boat .... you'll get it in no time .

Well, I hate to burst anybody's bubble, but just for poops and giggles, I looked up the blue book value on the boat. Granted, I only had the info provided by Pappy, and some info I took from the pictures.

The high average price for this boat in excellent condition is

$3410

So if a dealership offered you $4500, I would run every red light I came to getting it to them, hoping they didn't change their minds.

Here's some fun reading. Notice this was posted one day AFTER I told you about Tracker's infamous weld cracks.

Had a guy stop over and ask to hold it for him at $5300. I wasnt home, but the neighbor said he was willing to leave a deposit but he didnt feel comfortable with taking money etc.

And yes, internet is king of the cheap.

There ya go !!!!

I knew it wouldn't last too long at that price and for it being that clean . Like I said ...... if that boat were around in my area , you'd get $10 000 CND ( $8500-$9000 USD) in less than a day .

We had a garage sale a few months ago and my dad had his OLD boat parked in the driveway cuz it had just gotten rubber sprayed ( rivets were leaking) and I swear I could have sold that boat a dozen or more times in that 1 day ... and this boat is like a mid to late '70s .

Everyone wants everything for dirt cheap on the net . Like you said , old 250Rs sell for $2000 on the net ... yet everytime I look in a Trader I see them for $6000 and when you call they're already sold . :macho

Quadfather,
We have bird hunted out of a tracker for 4 years now. No leaks or anything wrong with it. It has held up very very well, and we have put the boat through hell and back (running up on logs, breaking 1ft thick ice, hiting rocks, you name it) Very pleased with the boat, thus far!! :)
