05 450r jetting

Im lookin at jetting my 05 450r.....

i have a pro circuit T-4 slip-on exhaust....
stock air filter.....
everything stock.......

Anybody let me know if you'll have sum suggestions on what kind of jet kits and what size i should get.

If you ran without the airbox lid,

pilot - 52
main - 178
2 1/2 turns out on the mixture screw

This should get you in the ballpark.

By the way, are you from the Brighton that is close to Lawrenceburg or Memphis?

You will get alot more performance out of a non-lid setup. But, if you have to run the lid, I would start with a 50 pilot, 160 main jet, and go from there.

The pilot jet controls how much fuel is used to supply to the engine from idle to 1/4 throttle. The main jet controls fuel from 1/2 throttle to wide open. When you put the exhaust on, you are letting more air through the engine. The more air going through the engine, the more fuel that has to be added to accomodate for the extra air, resulting in more power. This explains the no-lid setup having more power. More air=more power.

i was lookin on the internet at dynojet kits and i was reading about the stage 2 kit.....

is that kinda the same thing........

aftermarket pipe....
stock or mildly tuned engine...
stock air filter....

I'm not really sure. I have never purchased a jet kit. I always bought the individual jets.

Any ATV/Motorcycle parts store should be able to get you any jet size you need. I run a 52 pilot, 178 main; both Keihin.
