whats up guys i just wanted to know whos got a 400ex that is dustin 450s? if you do have a 400 like that please post maybe a pic of your bike and just state what parts you threw on it. Tryin to build a beast.. thanks guys

A piped 450 will make 45 HP or close to it. A piped 400ex will make 30 HP approximately. You better have a fat wallet, Sir!! :p :p

its possible for him to outrun 450's. my friend has a 400ex that was bored out to a 510..but he had it custom made..but he still kicks the 450's around..or just build a hybrid...and like the other guys said ...you better have a fat wallet!

ROFL...510...Holy Shiit!!! Gettin a lil thin. :p :p I didn't say it wasnt possible to build up a 400ex into a 450 killer. But at the same time, you got to understand that the 450's are gonna have work done to them.
The smartest thing (if you are talking about racing mx against 450s) You need to bring the horsepower out in your bike through a good front end suspension/a-arm setup. Get you a good rear shock and an aftermarket swingarm/axle as well. Ride a stock(motor/suspension) 450r then hop on a 400ex that has good suspension setup...you will feel the difference, its like night and day!!! :D :D

i know 400's can outrun 450's and i understand that the 45o's will be built up...yeah..his motor hasnt blown yet..but he has all this titanium stuff on it..like the frame..and the piston etc...and some special made shocks..lol...but the suspension and stuff is right...

I have a full Lonestar 440ex that I'll never get reed of it's got houser long travel +3 a-arms with a houser swingarm and Elka's all the way around,FCR 39mm carb. , full LRD exhaust,corllia rod,and a Duncan Pc 4000 cylinder which is just nasty,a lighting fly wheel and key, stage 2 cam, Curtis sparks clutch and a hydraulic clutch with a steel braded line to help me out, and I got to say it still pullin hole shots in D-7 A class not all the time but it will most of the time if I can get it to come off the line in 2nd gear just write it will make really good power coming off the line were as theses 450's are spinning off the line and not hoking up I know to because I have a 450 hybrid and it spins a lot more off the line were as the 440 is hoking an ripping:eek2: no dout it took a lot of time and money to get it were it is today thats why I'll never get reed of it. :D

yeah..a titanium piston..the 510 is pretty fast...theres alot of $hit done to it...and alot of money into it too..nick shupe...you should post some pics of ur 400..sounds pretty sweet dude

I'm extremely sceptical about a titanium piston unless you can provide details about it (like who made it). I've heard of titanium connecting rods, casidiam coated titanium wrist pins, and titanium piston rings. I've even heard of carbon-carbon pistons--but NEVER a titanium piston. Are you sure it's not a "normal" piston with a surface treatment like titanium nitride?

I have a feeling your buddy is pulling your leg if he told you he has a titanium piston...

I have never seen a Ti piston either...never even heard of it....not saying you are a lier, I learn new things everyday!! :cool:

it might be just a reg. piston with some coating or something...they guy who made it is my best friends grandpa had a CNC machine and he worked for ford and helped build and design the diesel motors and he designed the piston and all of the other stuff..like help build the frame, a arms, swinger, axle, etc..but hes dead now..which sucks..so your prob. right about that titanium nitride coating on it..my bad

yeah..its alright...he was probably messing with me..lol...ill get him back for it. i have a ?...what bumper would be good for me out of all the bumpers that blingstar makes? i ride trails and i do some motocross...and i cant figure out what bumper would look good on my 400...thanx
