well since you are going to have the motor apart, I would replace the cam as well. You have a 400ex and i believe that you will have to put HD head studs in as well, to help from blowing gaskets from the high comp piston trying to pull out. Most people also use "thin gaskets" from cometic when they rebuild a 400ex.

+2mm is a 416, correct? HD studs are never a bad idea.. but I don't think they are necessary on a 10.8:1 416.

I agree with the cam and cometic gaskets.

cometic thin gaskets, hotcam stage 2, crf cam chain maybe, HD studs maybe, new valve seals would be smart, 2 new exhaust gaskets, clutch cover gasket if your replacing the cam chain

you might want to check with C&D racing on this site, you can order that exact same piston from them for $120. actually, you can order all of this from them for a good price. ask for a price quote in the C&D racing section on here

Ya for a 416 I would just get a cam, HD cam chain, and a cometic gasket. I will probably cost around $200 more but It will rip when your done. Are you going to be installing it yourself?

So what do I NEED before I get it installed? HD Studs, already got that down, and cosmetic gasket

The Cam and stuff will come later. I need to know what is mandatory to have.

Because I dont want to **** my engine up.
