Alright, well after next week i will have about 600 bucks, now should i buy a precision stablizer or jus save up for aarms and suspension. Im leaning more towards a stabilizer, since id rather get that, since im just starting to race.

thats a really nice stablizer i'd lean more towards that to. You are going to need suspension in time though so keep on saving:D

To be honest, at your level you dont need a 500 dallar stabilizer. Go on and get a Gibson rebuildable one and save yourself 300 dallars or so. With the left over money go buy yourself something else for your quad. Or save up for suspension cause you will need it. I just think that would be the smart thing to do.

thats a good idea too

i agree 100% but somewhere down the line, i am going to want a precision stabilizer, lol. So ill probably just go out and get it, then start saving for suspension, it will deffinately take a while, but ill get it sometime.:p

I'd get two of them. That way if one fails, you have a spare. That's what Wimmer said..

Then after we have four of those, we can save for six Quad Tech hoods. Gotta have at least six, or you're nobody.....

07-26-2006, 09:52 AM
yeah, you gain like 0.01 HP by running a Quad Tech hood.
They cut down on wind resistance. That's why they are so expensive.:chinese:

I know they were expensive for some reason:D

BUT...If you get 6 hoods you'll pick up almost 1/2 HP....:D

YEAH! now i know what im spending my next $1,000 in parts on!
but really dude i have full LT suspension all round, it helps with tracking stait but not as much as a dampner. you have to think about what you will be doing. if the track you run on is smooth then go wider but if you ride on a roung track then go dampner. but remember if you go wider you have to get arms ($500+), axle ($450+), and revalve shocks ( $300? ,i dont remember). and for a dampner just go stick for a wile, maybe a year or two. although ppl now think the sticks are junk because of the presision and elka ones, they are stil the cheapest investment to make for better handeling and you can feel the difference in about five minutes with little technical know how.

Twisted thanks for the inside info. Know I know what you ordered the other day, Two prp dampeners. Now thats planning, you don't even have the quad yet. Do you? haha lol

If the Precision stabilizer is what you really want then get it, but for racing I would say get a decent axle first (RPM, LSR). The stabilizer will definitely help with rough tracks and arm pump, but the axle will make you faster through every turn on every track, but that's just my opinion and everyone is different. :huh

I agree on the axle.. If I were you I'd get a rebuilt rear shock with a GT Thunder link and an axle first. You can even get the GForce axle for $200 (mines held up great). In the meantime, I'd try to find a good used Denton or Pep stabilizer to hold me until I could afford to finish the suspension and upgrade to a Precision stabilizer.

If you want a stabilizer, buy the best one the first time. I had a Denton on my 416 and got the Precision for my 450. I'll never look back. No comparison what so ever. Plus the Precision will last longer without needing rebuilt.

07-31-2006, 09:45 AM
has anyone had to rebuild a precision yet?
if so, how many hours do you think you had on it?

I just went throught this decision not too long ago. I had a pep dampner and was going to upgrade my suspension. To make a long story short I bought a precision and got my shocks done by derisi. 450 for the dampner and 750 for the suspension andI got 1200 in my suspensions and man does it handle like a dream! The precision is no comparision to the stick style. If I were you got get the precision your arms will thank you later. And you dont need to be a racer to benefit if you ride on pavement dont get one if you ride on rugged terrain its a must have.
