hey
i just did the valves on my 05 r (leftover , 8 mos old)
for other first timers i thought you might want to know:
1
you dont need to remove the fenders
there is plenty of room to get the gas tank off
if you just pull them out to the side
2
if you only need to adjust the exhausts (lucky me)
you do not need to remove the cam carrier
just pull the circlip from the rocker arm shaft
the shaft easily pulls out the right side
allowing you to remove the rocker arm and shims

have a nice ride

No- only the cover has to be removed!

i would put a circlip in there after wards....


and hes talking about the shaft that hold the exhaust rocker arm, remove the circlip and pull the shaft and the rocker arm comes off, so u can see the exhaust shims....


good idea if u know how it works

hey guys my friend has a 2007 450r and hes wanting to know how often you half to adjust the valves the dealer told him about every 20 to 25 hours

When I first got my 05 450r, my valve clearances remained in spec for about 70 hours. Even then, only the exhaust valves needed adjustment (they were a thousandth of an inch too tight). I got lucky I guess.

Either lucky or it wasn't brand new;)
