Spent the day at the dunes, and as usual I got my a** handed to me all day by just about every other bike. Can't wait to get a 450R for the sand, and keep my 400 on the track! I love my 400 on the dirt, I wish it wasn't so freakin' underpowered in the sand!!!

I hear ya. I was at Coral Pink, UT last week. I thought my poor EX was gonna explode into a ball of fire I was working it so hard! The 6000ft of elevation up there really takes a bite out of the power, but even at Glamis (only a few hundred feet) the EX just doen't cut it anymore. Funny how it seemed plenty fast a few years ago--now it's just a dog in the sand...

I rode my buddies brand new 450R, and it was freakin' phat. No problem keeping up with any stock bike out there. Plus, it's got electric start (a huge plus when it's 90 degrees outside & kickin' sux!!)

90 degrees sh-t that would be great right gpracer2500. yeah I have an 02 400 and its a great quad but it just not as fast as the others but its still a bullet proof bike.

I might have to wear a jacket if it got down to 90 :p . It was 118 the other day! It was a much more reasonable 113 today... ;)

Is it dry heat?

It was 100 here for 1 day last week. Really humid to. Air was so thick you could hardly breath.

Most of the year, yes--it's very dry. Right now is our monsoon season so the humidity is higher than normal. It can get noticably humid during the monsoon season but not nearly as bad as many places.

Since living in AZ for quite a few years now, I've become really senstive to humidity. I can't stand it. I'll take a dry 105 over a humid 90 any day. Once it gets over 110, it's just damn hot no matter how you look at it...

Atleast in AZ you can get up in the mountains an escape the heat and FL you can get to the beach. Here in MO it had been in the low 100's and about 70%+ humidity. Now, that BLOWS!

Yes its a dry heat so is your oven how often do you stick your head in there????:) :) :)

Yes Az equals mountains if you live in Tucson (I do ) or Phoenix , means you drive (trailer the bike) about 3 hours to get to high country (cooler country) from either location.
