ok i need your honest opinions.
I race mx and need a pipe for my 450r!!!
I'm just not sure which to get, the LRD is the one i'm leaning for:
LRD Pro4 Racing Edition,
or the yoshimura TRC -tri oval,
or the white brothers pro aluminum?
thanks for any help you can give!! and alos if you have a price on them to would be great(canadian) and if you can i would like to see some pics of the pipes on your 450r.. i have been searchinfg and can't find any decent pics...

If i were you, i'd stay away from white brothers. My friend has a yfz and he spent like almost $600 on a aluminum race series. Within the first year he had it, the ring on the headpipe that seals the exhaust to the engine broke loose. He then just used his stock head pipe with the white bros can. About 4 months after that, the canister brackets snaped. And its about impossible to weld that pipe because the header is paper thin and the brackets are aluminum or titanium or something. He now has an NMotion and it is the superior pipe.

well i want a good quality pipe and i have some cash so i am liking the yoshi TRC so im thinking about that right now...my friend has it on his z-400 and its a great pipe...i think it was called TRS last year wasn't it?
I was looking at the TRC on the Yohimura site and i like the new look...i think im going to go for one of those

i have the duncan fat boy 4 sounds nice dont really stick out 2 far, meaning if u do wreck it want chip in or bend so keep the fat boy 4 in mind

Edit: also hrc has a nice slip on different color options but its all up to the rider and what he likes

I would go with either the LRD pro-4 R or the WB pro aluminum. Iv got the LRD, I baught it in 2004 when I got my wheeler new. and I have never had any problems with it yet, its never come loose or gotten worn out and seems to work very good in hot weather and in cold weather even without re-jetting. Iv only repacked the pipe once since Iv had it.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but the yoshi pipes don't make as much power on the 450r's as on other quads. I bought the white bros aluminum with the updated mounts so they don't break and my other buddies have a yoshi full system and they both agree that the aluminum pro makes way more power. I have seen dynos of these pipes and they are close on the dyno but it just doesn't feel as good. I have a rossier on my other quad and that makes even more power then the white bros.

LRD is great. Look at the HP numbers in certain RPM ranges. Its been a while but i think i remember the LRD pro 4 series putting out 7hp in the lower RPM ranges, which is where you might want them on MX tracks? The infor is on the LRD website somewhere i believe. Dont go by peoples words, do the research first. Good Luck.

I dont know how any other exhausts sound, but I heard my buddys yfz400 today, he only had a Yoshi slip on, and that thing was way too loud and annoying

Get a Tc shorty if noise isnt an issue.

Hmmm thats odd because i have a yoshi full system without the sparky in and it's not crazy loud... i mean it barks but not ear piercing like some... with the spark arrestor in i bet it would easily be under 100 db's
