Don't even bother with aluminum. I've trashed PRM and OMF swingarm skids in less than three months. Get the stainless one from Pro-tec it will last longer than the bike.

I really like my PRM skid plate I got from the Quadshop. I know I would have destroyed the stock one and damaged my swingarm had I not had it at my first race, there was a long section thru a rocky creek.

Pro tect isn't all that great. I thrashed mine in 1 ride. It was still usable with a little beating from a sledge hammer, but I expected more from it.

Kenny, if you busted it up at TC then only expect 2 rides from any skid if you ride hard through the rocky sections. After 2 rides you are going to have to beat it up some.

If you use the search button you will see that the overall consensus is that PRM and Pro Tect are the best. They are certainly not indestructable however. Pro Tect will last longer than PRM.

thanks everyone...

nj300ex....no damage from tcri:eek: i figured ridin with 2 R's tapped in 5th on some of those trails would have killed it but i hit on good rock landing a table at the lembo ride and she was hurtin. i may try to bend her back and heli-arc the cracks before the next gncc race. i think i will be callin the quadshop in the mornin:D
