View Full Version : Installed chain tensioner today

After installing our new Work's shocks we had some chain tension problems due to the increased travel and ride hieght while the suspension was unloaded.The new HPD tensioner should solve the problems and bolted right onto our Viper although it is intended for a Polaris Predator...It is intended to be run without a chain guard but for trail riders the chain guard can be retained with some trimming.

Good pics, that should help others. I did some grinding on that top mount for the chain gaurd where the chain would rub a little. I think I notched out about a 1/4" to give the chain a little more clearance.

Thanks to Newnick and Spike for getting me the correct part#...Yes I did grind the mounting tab on the guard a little for chain clearance as well.I have more pictures if anyone is interested.It was a bit of a pita to install with the guard due to the spring pressure.
