450r and 400ex's shocks

would a rear 450r shock fit a 400ex without having to modify it

Doubtful, and even if it fit, the geometries/valving would be off.....

I believe the rezzi on the R shock hits the airbox of the 400ex. But the 400ex shock with as much money you'd buy a R shock can be made way better than either.

the r shock will fit just have to grind down the mounting bracket

like said above, i think the reservoir hits the airbox.. if youre only going stock, then id look for a 400ex take-off.. plenty out there..
