ok, this year is my first year bulding and running a car in the demo derby (4 cyl class). any tips or tricks i should know about when it comes to building the car?

what kind of car is it? what are the rules. first thing to do is chain and weld the bumpers on if your allowed to weld. and depending on what kind of car it is sometimes its better not to run a rear bumber packs in better. post up what kind of car it is then ill think of more.

were going to run a 98 ford escort station wagon (grocery getter) :devil: the rules only say that you're not allowed to re-enforce the frame (unless you tie in the sub-frame to keep the car from bending in the middle),you cant put anything in front of the radiator, you have to re-locate the fuel cell and battery, and remove all of the usuals. (glass, dash board, seats, ect...)

when they say cant have anything in front of the radiator do you mean not adding anything to the car. ive built an escort just last year but that was an 89 hatchback. im pretty sure that new of car has plastic bumbers go to a junk yard and find some steel bumpers off a different compact and put them on there. if you have the equipment you can try to attpempt the sedagon where you collapse the back off of the roof to make it look like a sedan type car, ill try to find some pics of a wagon with it done so you can see what i mean. for more info on building a car go to www.wecrash.com.
