Alright ..... we all love them , well atleast some of us do , unless you have some sort of crazy family ... but our family is only half nuts , so I tend to enjoy family get togethers .

Anyways , over the weekend we had a little family gathering . It's something that my aunt and uncle started about 10 years ago , but it for the last two years it had been put on hold .... this year they came back with full force . Mostly every summer they hold a family get together and a party for all of their friends and workers .... this years attendance was roughly 80 people . Well when they throw a party , they throw one hell of a party . This year the meal was 4 different kinds of salads , baked potatoes , cheese platers and the main ... prime rib ... and LOTS of it ..... oh and we can't forget the wine , beer and a little bit of hard liquor . I think in total , it was 25 bottles of white and red wine , 28 cases of beer , 30 mixed bottles of Crown Royal , Tequila and Vodka and a couple bottles of my uncle's favorite ... Jack Daniels .

To complete it all , we had large party tents set up to keep out of the sun , since it was about 100 damn degrees , a dance floor and of course , a Live band !!!!!

All in all , it was a great time , nothing like seeing family I haven't seen in a LONG time , good food , great music and lots of beer !!! I'll get some pictures up shortly ... I have to try and load them all onto a hosting site !!!

So ya , who else loves family gatherings and how do you guys and girls celebrate ???

Every party needs music ... a live band is even better !!

We even had a bar . This is part of the old rafters out of an arena . We layed it on it's side and added 2 large tree stumps at either end ... it worked awesome !!!

HAHA ... anytime you make your way north of the border , let me know . The boat is always full of beer :p and the prime rib is ready for the rottiserie . Oh and to add to it , my aunt and uncle live on a farm with over 300 acres of land ... mostly all rolling hills . Oh and did I mention they also own logging road construction company and have ALL the equipment needed to build some nice jumps ??

Part of the property . This is mostly where my aunt keeps her horses . In the distance you can see the dry sheds , the barn and the indoor riding arena .

A little guest house with the main house off to the left . They just recently did some landscaping .

" I'm ready to rock out !!!" . This is my cousin's baby . Her name is Abigaile .... she'll be 2 in December . She's my little sweetheart !!!

Here's the last bunch of pictures that I'll post up ... unless you all want to meet the rest of the family ... which I don't think you want to .

Back deck of the main house ... looking towards the guest house .
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a151/Quad18star/IMG_0178.jpg

From the back deck , this is what you see when you look off of it .
My uncle has a little waterfall in the making for my aunt . Also part of a river leading into a large lake just around the bend .

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a151/Quad18star/IMG_0177.jpg

My cousin's house . This is what you see when you look left off the back deck . They have nearly an identical view of the river below .
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a151/Quad18star/IMG_0180.jpg

Watch out guys ... in a few years you'll see her beating the boys on quads . Me , Abi and another cousin's Blaster . This is the closest I've came to a sport quad in a few months . :(

And this last one is for Pappy . Pappy if this don't make your mouth water and your stomach growl for some food , nothing will !!!!! The door is always open ... just let me know when and I'll give you directions !!!!!

That is sweet ***. I when i went to my now exwomans family gathering it was much like that. Kinda a wedding reception family reunion. But like with most redneck reunions fueld by whiskey a lot of fights broke out. I punched my womans brother in the nose for pissing on my truck. And the law had to come out and settle everybody down. Several who would not settle down made their way to jail to sober up and several people went to the e room for minor injuries and burns(walking through the fire).

looks like a good party. the only thing that makes me cringe is the rusty steel wrapped around the prime rib. you must have an iron stomach! i like the boat cooler idea, thats pretty redneck!!

Thanks for the comments guys .

As far as the rusty look on the wrap around the prime rib , I can assure you that it wasn't rusty . It might have just been the angle and lighting in the picture , but the clamps to hold the meat down were a real dark black ... pretty much caked in grease . This cooker gets used nearly every weekend , it doesn't have time to rust . :p

The pictures were taken last weekend ( July 15th) and it was about 100 degrees outside during the day ... but as soon as the sun went down , it got a bit cooler . The main reason some people had long sleeve shirts on , is because the mosquitoes were pretty bad for about 1 1/2 hours . The long sleeves came off after te bugs went away though .

As far as the boat beer cooler ....... you gotta improvise when you have nothing else . We weren't just going to let the beer stay warm and my aunt's horses were drinking out of the big tub were had planned on using . The boat was the closest and best option !!!:blah:
