after rejetting and some mods my bike is harder to start do you think changing the pilot size might help. If so what size?

I'd start with the 42.

Thanks Knighttime. I will try a 42. What elevation do you live at?I have my fuel/air at 3.25 out. is that too much?165 main one clip towards lean.
Anybody else?

next time your having problems getting it started, put jumper cables or a battery charger on it.. if it lights right off then it's time to consider dumping the WB CDI box...

rumor has it they require more RPM to start the bike, and the 400's starter barely spins them faster..

I believe four stroke tech can remove the rev-limiter from the stock box if you'd like..

as far as pilots go I put a 42 in mine, and it starts 100% better than it ever did new..

Thanks Leo. How do you like the xr400 cam? is it worth doing?

I love it on the trail.. With the minor boost in compression + XR cam it still has the nice broad stock powerband, just more everywhere..

I'm afraid I've been bit by the competitve bug though, and it's almost time for the full monty (aggressive cam / higher comp 416 / FCR / better exhaust setup).. Funny thing about power, no matter how much you have, you always want more!
