250r, or 400ex axle in a 300ex?

I'm having a hard time finding a good used 300ex extended axle. I've heard from a couple people that a 250r, or 400ex axle will work in a 300. I just wanted to see for sure before i try it. Does anyone know?

either one will not fit in a 300ex.

An ATC350X axle fits up well. I beleive you need a spmall spacer, but other than thay it's a direct fitup at +1-3/4"

I'd jsut get an aftermarket axle though. Honda stock axles are like hot butter.. lol. (on the non-450's at least don't know if the 450 axles are any better.)

I know rollie said he had a 250r axle in his 300 because lsr sent him the wrong one....Anyone else know?

your telling me. I bent one during a race, that only had one jump!!! The jump was small too. Good thing Pappy hooked me up.

As for the axle. I am pretty sure that you will need to use a swingarm/carrier. Just because the carrier on both the r and the 400ex is a little wider. Therefore, you cant tighten down the axle, beacuse where the bearing rides on the axle, will be sticking out.

yeah ive heard that if you use like a 250r carrier and axle (or 400ex) it will work

Looks like a little more trouble than I thought. I'm just going to get a 300 axle.
