how high should my rev be?

how high should my rev be to get my quad into 5th gear becuase today me and my dad were on the street and it seemed i was only in 4th gear and i kept on hitting up the shifter and it wouldnt shift anmore so how high should it be to get it into 5th and how should 5th gear feel.

You could not have been in 4th,, rpm's has nothing to do with shifting into 5th,, you can quick shift and keep going up to 5th,, if you weren't going fast enouch to excelerate high enough for each gear you'd bog,, RIGHT?
